MOSHE SAFDIE WINS 2015 AIA GOLD MEDAL

Israeli-born architect, Moshe Safdie, has been awarded the highest award from the American Institute of America for his evocative and geometric work. Some notable projects from Sadie include the Salt Lake City Public Library, the Yad Vashem Holocaust History Museum in Jerusalem (seen above), and the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Virtual Reality will be making it’s debut at Sundance 2015 in the form of Google Cardboard and Samsung’s Gear VR demonstrations. Through Sundance’s New Frontier install, which usually features a number of film makers each year, the festival will be showing people how virtual reality can be a new way to experience movies and not just promote them (looking at you HBO ‘Game of Thrones’). PROJECT MEGANOM WINS CONTEST TO TRANSFORM MOSCOW RIVERFRONT

At the IV annual Moscow Urban Forum, the city of Moscow announced the winner of their competition to transform Moscow’s riverfront. The Russian practice firm Project Meganom’s proposal aims to change the river embankments into public spaces that offer room for creativity, education, and cultural activities.
