Audrey Wennink directs the Metropolitan Planning Council’s transportation efforts and leads its Regional Planning & Infrastructure Advisory Committee. She is currently initiating a number of transportation research and implementation efforts at MPC including on economic benefits of transit, multimodal transportation hubs, regional walkability, sustainable funding, and transportation equity. Prior to MPC, Audrey was a transportation planning and policy consultant with Cambridge Systematics for 12 years. Audrey has significant expertise in transportation safety issues, having authored multiple reports for the Federal Highway Administration on the topic and has led development of state and regional highway safety plans. She also has managed multiple transit investment planning and prioritization efforts in the Chicago region. Ms. Wennink holds a master’s degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois – Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Colby College.
