An architect of innovative supertall towers and future cities, David Malott is pioneering a global portfolio of iconic smart buildings. His transformative projects redefined their cities and set new standards in tall-building performance.
Previously, David led the architecture and engineering team behind the 600-meter tall Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen, China’s fastest-growing city and emerging global technology hub. Featured on CNN as one of “9 New Buildings Set to Define Cities in 2016,” Ping An Finance Center has gained recognition for the smart and sustainable innovations which underscore its record-breaking height.
A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, David’s designs stem from his exploration of physical and biological systems. He sees buildings as breathing and living entities which form a larger ecosystem of urban life, bringing to architecture an understanding of the complex social, economic, and environmental dynamics of the world’s cities and the cultures which connect them.
