As the Director of VDC for Gilbane’s NY region, Rawle is responsible for managing the output of all virtual design and construction in New York. He is an expert in various VDC platforms, including laser scanning, augmented reality, virtual reality, model-bases estimating and reality capture. Rawle works with numerous internal and external stakeholders to ensure his team’s deliverables meet expectations and provide clients with value and innovation. He is responsible for reviewing, interpreting and staffing owner requirements, and then seeing them through from the proposal phase to the completion of construction.
Rawle works closely with the Gilbane Technology Group to develop tools to enhance VDC services, as well as other national VDC staff to develop training plans, identify hardware and software needs, and understand and communicate the return on investment for VDC technology. He is responsible for identifying, targeting, hiring, training, and developing his team of VDC staff to ensure all of their deliverables are of the highest quality and provide innovation. When he began at Gilbane, Rawle was the only VDC employee in the New York team. He has since grown the department to a team of eight VDC employees and this number is constantly increasing. Rawle continues to build and develop his team’s skills to provide internal and external stakeholders with a high quality output. Strategically, Rawle manages the VDC department’s goals and budget, as well as identifies the long and short-term goals of the business unit, aligned to virtual design and construction.
