While people generally look to BuiltWorlds for information from our analyst briefs, reports, conferences, and videos, most are equally interested in BuiltWorlds as a platform for building their own networks, meeting and learning from others in the network, and also establishing their own credibility as thought leaders by sharing some of what they know with the rest of the community. Some, also just want to contribute what they can to help advance the industry. Whatever, your needs or interests are, there are many opportunities to get involved, and we have gathered together some quick links for easy reference here:

Opportunities For Everyone:

  • Build and maintain your Member Profile Bio, Photo and Interests under Setting in your dashboard view (Setting>Profile).
  • Manage Company Page Content. Those with Administrative roles can add their company logo, post videos, post news, manage company descriptions, and more in the dashboard under (Admin>Company Page).
  • Apply to Speak or be a Judge or be a Moderator. Via Conferences and Calls, BuiltWorlds Members have hundreds of opportunities to share what they know with the community as speakers. We also look for industry professionals to serve as judges at our Demo Days, and also as we evaluate software and solutions for the marketplace. Increasingly, we are looking to our growing membership for discussion groups, forums, conference sessions, and call Moderators.   • Apply to Contribute Thought Leadership to the BW News or Video Feeds. The best place to learn about our contributor program is via our Verified Contributor Program, but you can also just check the box on the (Member Contributor Guide).
  • Apply or nominate someone you know to be a Maverick. The Mavericks Awards are BuiltWorlds' most highly sought after awards, recognizing the industry's true visionaries and pioneers. Thousands of people reference this list published each spring to learn about the industry's most innovative leaders.
  • Join a Forum and start a conversation. Or better yet, start a new forum.
  • Post to the Innovation Exchange if you are hosting a demo day, undertaking a study, kicking off a pilot program or otherwise have an initiative you would like to open up to other BuiltWorlds Members to participate in.
  • Share Case Studies in our Project Case Studies Directory. Overwhelming, our members express that they want to learn through case studies of projects leveraging innovative technologies and thinking. Our Case Studies Directory gives people a resource to share and to find those case studies. Case studies link to Company Pages and also may be selected to feature in BuiltWorlds Research and Events.

Special Opportunities For Start Ups and other Tech, Tool, and Equipment Solutions Companies

  • If you are an emerging tech company looking for investors or beta customers, you can apply to Present at a Demo Day. We have monthly private demo days for our Venture Forum and also host Demo Days throughout the year for our broader membership.
  • Post your Deal to the Deal Board for investors to see that you are raising or considering raising funds. You don't have to give away any state secrets here. You control who you give access to for information about your deal, but if you are raising money, the deal board is a place where you can let all of the investor members in BuiltWorlds know with a simple posting of a paragraph, write up, and thumbnail. Investors who are interested will just click to request to connect with you about the opportunity.
  • Apply to be considered by the BuiltWorlds Corporate Venture Forum by filling out their start up questionnaire. The Corporate Venture Forum is a group of strategic investors within BuiltWorlds collaborating around investing and operating as beta customers in the space. They maintain their own list of start ups to consider working with. So, applying is how you make sure you get on their radar.
  • Apply to have your company featured on a BuiltWorlds Top List. We annually publish a Building Tech 50, Machines 50, Project Management 50, Smart Infrastructure Tech 50, and Smart Jobsites 50 List, and these lists get great visibility. You can apply to be featured on the lists here - Top Lists

Special Opportunities for Investors

  • If you are an investor and you are interested in being known as a major investor in the industry, be sure to apply to be on our Top Investors List.
  • Apply to be a judge at one of our Demo Days.
  • If you are serious about investing, and you are a strategic player, join our corporate venture forum.
  • Mark your job type as investor in your profile and make sure to click off investing as an area of expertise on your profile so that others will be able to find you in the member directory and understand that as your focus area.

Special Opportunities for Consultants and Advisors

  • Make yourself available to Consult Via BuiltWorlds. Many members of BuiltWorlds are experts and are interested to share what they know with other members via consulting assignments. Similarly, many members are looking for those consulting services. There are a couple of ways to signal to the network that you are available as a consultant. One is indicate that you are a consultant or advisor in your "Job Type" on your Profile so that when people search the member directory, they can find you there.
  • Another way to signal your availability to consult or advise is to check the Consultant box on the BuiltWorlds Member Contributor Guide. You'll see a little briefcase pop up on your profile picture indicating that you are open to be contacted by members about consulting or advisory work.
  • Be sure your Company is categorized for Consulting under company type, if appropriate, in the network directory.
