The last analyst call of May discussed project management and data standardization and explored the data handover process and BIM accessibility for different stakeholders within a project. Sean Wrenn, a Research Analyst at BuiltWorlds, moderated the call that featured three guest speakers: Reggie Arichabala, CTO and Co-Founder of Riskcast; Ankit Maheshwari, CTO of Zepth; and AJ Waters, Vp, Industry Solutions at InEight.
Ankit Maheshwari noted that construction is collaborative, yet fragmented, due to the different phases of the construction process such as design, planning, building, and operating. Challenges can arise when having to align data management and collaboration with various stakeholders who have different perspectives, expertise, and understanding of the project’s details. In order to overcome this, there must be a common ground that connects these stakeholders. One of the keys to project management is implementing connected data platforms. Having connected data integrated into a project enhances collaboration, streamlines workflow, optimizes project outcomes, and reduces costs.
