This episode of our BuiltWorlds Conversations series, recorded in March of 2025, brought together Dr. David Gerber, professor and program director at the University of Southern California, Abbie Raudabaugh, project manager for Flannery Construction and head of the Minneapolis-St. Paul chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction, and Steve Dell’Otro, CEO of ConCntric. In an hour-long discussion, these leaders explored the labor shortage currently facing the industry, bringing both the perspective of industry vets looking to hire new talent to fill gaps and the perspective of academics training the new talent to enter the workforce. Moderated by James McClister, director of marketing and communications for BuiltWorlds, the webinar also focused on ways in which strategic application of technologies is poised to close our industry’s expansive labor gap.
