Netivei Israel – National Transport Infrastructure Company Ltd. is a government-owned company responsible for the planning, development and maintenance of Israel’s interurban road network and railway development.
The roots of the Company date back to 1921, before the establishment of the State of Israel. “Ma’atz” (P.W.D. – Public Works Department) was established as the engineering arm of the British Mandate in Israel. From the establishment of the State of Israel and up to 2003, Ma’atz functioned as a government unit.
In 2012, due to the expanding list of missions, the Company’s name was changed to “Netivei Israel – National Transport Infrastructure Company Ltd.”
Netivei Israel is engaged in development and maintenance of the interurban roads network in Israel and development of railway lines. The Company is a central growth engine for the Israeli economy, emphasizing the quality and safety of roads and environmental development.
