Q3 was a record quarter for capital inflows in the built world VC market with $7.23B in early and later-stage investments being deployed across 129 deals, representing year-over-year (YoY) growth of 210% & 47%, respectively.
Despite a record level of capital inflows into the built world’s startup ecosystem, the number of deals completed fell to its lowest level since Q3 2022. If you were to remove the three $1B+ deals that made up over 50% of total Q3 deployment, venture investment growth would have been negative quarter-over-quarter (QoQ) while cutting the previously stated 210% YoY expansion to just 50% YoY.
Series C and later deals accounted for 15.75% of Q3’s deal count while making up 83.4% of this past quarter’s total investments.
