BIM in PM: Procore’s Acquisition of BIManywhere Demonstrates Growing Interest in Getting BIM in the Field

 

What’s Going on?

On September 25, 2018, Procore, a leading cloud-based construction management software, announced their acquisition of BIManywhere, a BIM collaboration platform for construction and facilities management that enables 3D visualization to help streamline communication. Though Procore traditionally has developed new modules in-house or allowed integrations to their app marketplace, its acquisition of BIManywhere demonstrates the growing interest in BIM-aided project management during construction.

How does it help?

BIM has been a major factor in the design, planning, operations, and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure. However, one area that many believe BIM can play a much larger role is on the jobsite to aid construction management.
