Former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, operating partner at Blackhorn Ventures and partner at Freestone Strategies, gave the keynote address at the 2025 Venture West Conference in San Francisco, Calif. In his address, Ritter examined the impact of political policies on the construction industry and built environment economy. Offering thoughts on current tariffs affecting commerce globally, as well as the Inflation Reduction Act impacting the national economy and national tax credits impacting building costs, Ritter focused in on emerging changes to demand for and advancement of environmental building practices and innovation.
