In the dynamic landscape of AEC, a critical transformation is underway — an evolution fueled by data, guided by strategy, and empowered by artificial intelligence and machine learning. At this meeting, part of our larger AI and Machine Learning in AEC Research Track, our analysts help members understand the world of AI and ML in AEC and work together to develop effective strategies for leveraging AI/ML in their businesses today while also anticipating the changes yet to come.
The AI/ML Inaugural Annual Meeting is an intimate gathering of thought leaders and innovators from across the AEC industry to discuss trends, challenges, and opportunities arising from the building and infrastructure industry's accelerating data race and turn toward artificial intelligence and machine learning. This special event is limited to participants from 30 companies. Annual Meeting attendees are required to be registered as participants of the AI/ML Readiness Research Track, through which participants will gain access to research tailored to align with the needs and interests of their respective organizations.

Introductions & Key Interest Areas
Attendees will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and establish their priorities around AI/ML and data governance.
AI/ML Learning Session
This learning session will help our members establish a firm common baseline for knowledge around AI/ML as it relates to our industry today and in the near future. Participants will learn terminology and key concepts around data management, machine learning, and classic/advanced artificial intelligence.
AI/ML BuiltWorlds Research Presentation & Discussion
With a baseline understanding of AI/ML established, we will present original BuiltWorlds research geared toward applying these terms and concepts to understand how, where, and to what ends artificial intelligence and machine learning are being leveraged in the AEC ecosystem. This session will provide an inventory of current AI-enabled solutions in the marketplace, mapped onto BuiltWorlds Benchmarking research specialty areas.
The Role of AI in Industry-Specific AEC Solutions
Our first Research Track General Session of the day will emphasize the role of point solutions for the expansion of AI into the AEC space, drawing insights from representatives of point solution providers.
AI and Big Tech in AEC
Our second Research Track General Session of the morning will explore the changes to big tech in the AEC space, examining the impacts of AI-enablement for major construction technology solutions and the implications of the such changes for contractors, engineers, and architects.
Data Governance & Strategy in AEC
Our first Peer Group Forum Session of the afternoon spotlights the experiences of members from the BuiltWorlds network as they share their insights from establishing data management strategies, implementing robust data pipelines, and maintaining strong data governance programs.
Leveraging AI/ML in AEC
Our final Peer Group Forum Session offers a look into the transformative power of artificial intelligence in AEC, as speakers share their experiences, challenges, and successes in implementing AI-driven solutions to enhance project efficiency, streamline decision-making, and unlock new horizons within the industry.
Closing Remarks & Thematic Discussion (Optional)
The conference kicks off with breakfast at 8 AM on Wednesday, February 8th, hosted at the BuiltWorlds office in Chicago’s vibrant River North neighborhood. Attendees will have the chance to introduce themselves and share their perspectives on AI/ML and data governance priorities. The morning session will revolve around informative learning sessions and compelling contractor case studies. Following a midday break for lunch, we’ll reconvene to delve into sessions featuring point solution providers and prominent tech industry leaders. Our conference will conclude with closing remarks, wrapping up the day’s discussions at 3 PM. For those interested, there will also be an optional thematic discussion to round out the event.
