AROUND THE NETWORK: BotBuilt Received $12.4 Million in Funding with Participation from Owens Corning & Ambassador Supply

BotBuilt is a company looking to take on the affordable housing crisis by leveraging technology to assemble homes quicker and cheaper. The company does this by leveraging a system of robotics that assembles the frames of houses offsite and then delivers them to the site. This process has cut out time and human capital on one of the trickiest part of home building – the frame.

BotBuilt is based out of NC and headed up by Brent Wadas who joined us this past November in Miami at Venture East for a panel titled, “Finding Balance Between Standardization & Customization in the World of Prefab & Modular Construction”. The panel focused around the idea that modular construction could be lowering the amount of customization in buildings and whether or not that will become an issue for the practice.

Also in attendance at Venture East were representatives from Owens Corning who make up part of our growing Venture Forum. The BuiltWorlds Venture Forum was created for leading investment arms within the AEC space to have a peer-group focused around current best practices and insights. The group meets monthly to discuss the investing atmosphere and talk strategy with one another about where the industry is headed from an investment lens.

Wadas also joined us at last year’s Americas Summit where BotBuilt swept the early-stage Demo Day awards grabbing both the popular vote in the room and also the judge’s scoring.

BotBuilt plans to use the additional funding to add team members and grow their current team from 13 to 20 members. This will help facilitate quicker growth for the early-stage startup that has a lot of momentum heading into 2024.

Join us in San Francisco in April 3-4 for the 2024 Venture West Conference. Venture West is the largest conference that focuses in on investing specifically within the AEC industry. We have managed to book 30+ speakers who will be participating on panels where the topics range from go-to-market strategies and standardizing pilot programs.

This event has sold out two years in a row, if you are interested in attending register or purchase your tickets today.
