Formwork Labs Announces Its 2025 Cohort

Formwork labs' five 2025 cohort companies

Formwork Labs, an accelerator for early-stage, AEC industry startups established through a partnership between BuiltWorlds and Brick & Mortar Ventures, has officially announced its 2025 cohort. The group includes Provizual, Freeda, Sonar Labs, Building Diagnostic Robotics, and Enji Tech.

Throughout the three-month program, these companies will benefit from a series of expert-led educational sessions, connect with industry veteran mentors, attend BuiltWorlds’ Venture West event, and pitch to investors and professionals at the program’s Demo Day on May 15 in San Francisco. According to the Formwork Labs website, cohort members can “expect to make 50-80 introductions during the program.”

Learn more about each of these companies below:

  • Provizual — Provizual is designed to improve the quality control and inspection process in construction. Integrated with Procore, it provides a visual dashboard on construction drawings to simplify inspection management. Built for vertical construction projects like multifamily, condos, hotels, and senior living developments, Provizual helps project teams communicate their inspection process visually.
  • Freeda — Freeda is an AI-powered platform that helps brick-and-mortar businesses (i.e., retail, restaurants, hotels and more) accelerate their construction and renovation projects by catching costly mistakes before they happen. The platform provides automated plan validation as a service, checking construction documents against building codes, brand requirements and local regulations in minutes instead of the 100-plus hours teams spend on manual checks today.
  • Sonar Labs — Sonar Labs builds earthwork material management software for construction teams. The company’s tools help teams plan material logistics, make decisions based on accurate forecasts, and complete projects efficiently by getting the right materials at the right time.
  • Building Diagnostic Robotics — Building Diagnostic Robotics (BDR) is a NYC-based deep tech startup revolutionizing commercial roof inspections through AI and robotics. Its autonomous robot, Roofus, uses LiDAR, GPR, and RGB cameras to perform detailed roof scans, while AI analyzes the data to identify issues and generate repair estimates. BDR operates as a freemium marketplace connecting building owners with qualified contractors and consultants. Having validated their technology across 40+ buildings and 1M+ square feet, BDR serves major clients including the City of New York and aims to transform the $2.4B roof asset management market while making buildings more energy-efficient and sustainable.
  • Enji Tech — Enji Tech brings together a team of construction and AI engineers to revolutionize design processes by developing Multi-Agent AI Systems. Unlike traditional software providers, they integrate seamlessly into design project delivery, crafting unique digital companions that adapt to each construction project’s specific narrative and challenges.
