Robotics today is not the same as the robotics of the last fifty years, and you can already see disruption starting in the logistics industry, with self-driving cargo. Meanwhile, self-driving cars are still a long way off. I summarize the technological and social tipping points leading to today’s robotics, and present a matrix of value vs cost that can help the construction industry identify low hanging fruitful applications of robotics.
