On the heels of the announcement that Document Crunch had been acquired by Trimble, BuiltWorlds Executive Chairman Matt Gray had the chance to catch up with Document Crunch Co-Founder & CEO Josh Levy at the 2026 Chicago Global Summit.
In an off-the-cuff conversation, Levy recalled how in the early days of his startup, BuiltWorlds events connected him with two of the company’s earliest lead investors, Zacua Ventures’ Vivin Hegde and Navitas Capital’s Louis Schotsky, as well as OpenSpace AI CEO Jeevan Kalanithi, who would become a close mentor and champion of Document Crunch.

After winning a BuiltWorlds Demo Day Competition, Levy reminisced on a pivotal moment where Gray pulled him aside to offer some crucial words of encouragement before funding for the startup had even begun.
