World of Concrete: Thursday Wrap-Up

World of Concrete

On Thursday, the 2018 World of Concrete convention in Las Vegas continued strongly into its third day with new exhibitors, demos, and more. Attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year, the long-standing expo has remained a hallmark of the concrete industry for decades. BuiltWorlds was live on the scene on Thursday. Here are some of our takeaways from the day’s events:

International showcased their new line of HX trucks, which includes the HX520, HX515, HX615, and HX620 vehicles. As versatile and utilitarian as they are beautiful, the trucks boast lightweight, yet durable stainless aluminum bumpers, halogen headlamps with LED lights, stainless visors, bug deflectors, and a slew of other impressive features. To accompany their new vehicles, International also spotlighted “Diamond Logic,” their new advanced electrical system that can be programmed to automate tasks, diagnostics, and other vital functions.

Outside in the Silver Lot, MB Crusher ran a series of demos displaying how functional (and quiet) their new bucket crusher can be. They weren’t the only highly visual display in that lot, either, with 3M employees grappling down scaffolding to highlight the safety functions of their new harnesses. Adjacent, Xtreme Manufacturing rolled out a series of increasingly large and complex cranes with notably high weight capacity limits. Heavy lifting was on display in full force at World of Concrete this year, with some of the most high-traffic booths offering insights into how to best maneuver jobsites with heavy concrete materials.
