Like most great ideas, Aptitude was born out of a need. As technology has become more complex, it is vitally important that the systems intended to make buildings smarter are carefully planned, designed and integrated alongside every other phase of a construction project, starting early in pre-construction. Too often, technology systems are an afterthought managed by siloes of multiple trade partners, and no one entity ‘owns’ the entire technology project. This leads to inefficiency, delays and change orders – challenges that could have been prevented. We created Aptitude to fix this ineffective approach.
By rethinking the approach to technology and engaging with clients across the entirety of our projects, we’re able to provide a goal-oriented, big-building-picture development process that results in carefully crafted built-environments that serve end users. We fill a gap on project teams and serve as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for owning the technology component of a project, providing valuable expertise to help owners achieve their vision for a seamlessly connected, state-of-the-art space.
We believe you can’t design, build or manage a building without understanding system relationships, their interdependencies, and the resulting patterns and trends. We also believe the knowledge gained from seeing this “big-building-picture” is the only way owners, operators and occupants can get the most out of their spaces. That’s what Aptitude is all about.
