Arkel’s history began in 1955 when a young, ambitious Homer Knost moved to Louisiana to participate in the building of the post-war construction boom on the US Gulf Coast. As the company’s horizons expanded domestically, Homer Knost set his sights on overseas opportunities. Homer transitioned leadership to his son George Knost in 2001. His spirit of making the impossible possible live on through the Arkel team.
