,AI/ML Preparedness and Building Tech Research Track members will have the opportunity to gather in-person for this forum meeting at the 2025 Building Tech Conference in NYC.
This talk introduces the concept of data representations and their foundational role in building effective AI applications within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. We will explore what makes a good representation, how to evaluate one, and why these decisions significantly influence the success of AI models. The session surveys a range of data representations currently used in AEC practice and research, including emerging approaches at the intersection of AEC and AI. We’ll close with a discussion on where the AEC industry currently stands in its AI journey, highlighting both progress made and opportunities ahead.
