This video from 2015 speaks to the potential for 3D Laser Scanning and 3D Printing for the industry. Kevin Carr and Kevin Bredeson delivered the presentation at our first AEC Hackathon Chicago. In the first half of the video, Kevin Carr talks about scanning and 3d printing. In the back half of the video, Kevin Bredeson shows off his scanning prowess with a scan of our first BuiltWorlds offices, about 160 million points gathered in an hour to provide a “point cloud” of our offices. Shows off how he leverages Autodesk Recap to create a “2.5D” view of the space, dimensionally accurate.
