As BuiltWorlds accelerates the growth of its data-driven, online research offerings alongside its international programming and network membership, the organization is also adding the support of valuable industry expertise from two new board members: Rosemarie Lipman and Grant McCullagh. Recognized for their knowledge in engineering, construction, business strategy, and emerging technology, Lipman and McCullagh join incumbent board members David Zucker and Jon Abrams. The Board of Directors will play an instrumental role in driving BuiltWorlds’ growth and broadening efforts, with a focus on maintaining strong governance, robust capital structure, high-quality content, and reliable infrastructure all while ensuring that our network expands and evolves to meet the ever-changing needs of the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.
"Grant and Rosemarie have been leading lights in the industry’s global push for innovation, and digital transformation for many years, and we are enormously grateful for the continuing support and counsel as BuiltWorlds positions for a new phase in its growth and evolution."
- Matt Gray, Founder of BuiltWorlds
Lipman launched her career as a tax lawyer in private practice before transitioning to energy and infrastructure law. As her career continued to progress, she ascended to the roles of General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Head of HR at EllisDon before moving into the Chief Information Officer role spearheading the development of digital strategies there. Lipman left EllisDon earlier this year, affording her more time for projects such as this current engagement with BuiltWorlds.
What drew me into BuiltWorlds is the tremendous opportunity and potential to be part of a broader growth in the industry and impact the way that projects are designed, planned, and executed... We are right on the cusp of the industry evolving and it is exciting being directly involved with the most significant and influential change agent in the AEC sector.
- Rosemarie Lipman, newly appointed Board Member at BuiltWorlds
McCullagh has been a leader in the AEC space for many years starting his career at the Austin Company subsequently co-founding McClier, a global leader in the industrial market design/build sector which he sold to AECOM where he served as Exec VP and later Vice Chairman during a high growth period. He has served on numerous public and private companies including WSP, Hill International and Thornton Tomasetti where he currently leads the TTWiiN Group Initiative encompassing several AEC tech funds and accelerators.
"Ten years ago, one could sense the potential tidal wave of technology across the entire AEC space was nearly upon the industry...It was this perfect storm you could see starting to form four or five years ago where BuiltWorlds now serves as the global clearinghouse for all aspects of AEC tech. Today, it's been proven that the company is well established, well recognized, and loved by those three constituencies as the forum for all things AEC tech, so I thought it was a great time to jump on board."
- Grant McCullagh, newly appointed Board Member at BuiltWorlds
As the industry looks to evolve, it needs reliable data and analysis that is relevant to all stakeholders to make the right business decisions. With a significant breadth and diversity of experience, industry pioneers like McCullagh and Lipman provide critical strategic guidance. With BuiltWorlds team continuing to grow and develop more resources for the community across industry verticals and regions, the Board of Directors will ensure the continuation of aggregating the right data and analytics to support the expanding needs of stakeholders across the ecosystem.
