2024 BuiltWorlds' Top 50 Venture Investors

Welcome to the 2024 Venture Investors 50!

Since 2017, BuiltWorlds has tracked venture deals in the global construction and broader real estate ecosystem, annually spotlighting the 50 most active venture capital firms (both institutional and corporate) investing in the built world today.

This year’s list includes investors that you may recognize from previous years but also plenty of newcomers, with quite a shakeup in the most active investors, as well.

The intent of this list is to show the breadth of investors in this, in many cases, slow-to-adopt industry as well as the continued acceleration of financing to fuel innovative built environment technology.

Maturation of venture capital in the built ecosystem is apparent in the growth of the Top Investors List since its inception in 2018. The first ever list cataloged only 27 investors. BuiltWorlds Venture & Investment Research now tracks hundreds of investors per year.

How was this list created?

This year’s list was derived by quantifying how active institutional VCs, corporate venture groups and strategic investors have been over the last 12 months (October 1st, 2023 to October 1st, 2024). The investment groups that constitute this list are ranked in order, beginning with the most active, in terms of total deal participation (follow-ons and new deals) within BuiltWorlds Venture & Investment scope.

This list does not factor in criteria such as deal size, deal round, or being a lead investor. In instances where two groups have completed the same quantity of deals, the tiebreaker was awarded to the firm with more recent deal activity.

Besides the investment firms listed in order of deal activity, this list includes a description of each firm and its largest publicly listed deal in the built environment.
