The first sustainability-focused Analyst Call of the year took place yesterday. The timing of the call was fortuitous, coming right on the heels of the 2025 Sustainable Jobsites Annual Benchmarking Report and Sustainable Jobsites Top 50 List. During the call, we had the pleasure of sitting down with two of the companies identified on the Top 50 List, hearing from Jay Ruckelshaus, co-founder of Gravity, and Kristin Brubaker, education manager for Green Badger. The conversation focused on how Gravity and Green Badger are approaching the challenges and opportunities in this segment, as well as the companies’ respective innovation strategies helping to drive our industry forward in 2025.

It was very clear that both companies are focusing on the end-user experience and how to best empower the end user. A few key takeaways are listed below:

Document Processing and Management

While both solutions are working diligently streamline the documentation/document management workloads associated with running a sustainable jobsite, the companies have taken different approaches. Green Badger has created a large product database (EPDs) with the goal of eliminating eliminate time spent doing manual research or working through subcontractors. Meanwhile, Gravity has leaned into automation, pulling the relevant information from PDFs and other documents into its centralized platform. The end goal was clear for both: offload the unproductive work from the project staff and empower them to be leaders of sustainability efforts, not simply processors.

Dashboarding, Transparency, and Actionability

As the understanding and ability to process data matures in our industry, the expectations on the utility of dashboards provided has risen accordingly. Both of these top solutions had clear missions to provide greater data visibility along with actionable insights to their users. Core focuses of the solutions included goal-tracking metrics, greater transparency and accessibility to data, and utilization of the data to empower users to make informed decisions.

Final Report, Compilation and Export Assistance

Exporting final reporting was one of the top pain points identified in our 2025 Sustainable Jobsites Annual Benchmarking Report, with a score of 5.7 across all respondents. This score reflects the sum total of all respondents who had taken the survey, including contractors who used both dedicated software solutions and solutions created in-house. Gravity and Green Badger showcased their export of final reporting capabilities on the call which automated automating part of the submission process and preparing it for review, demonstrating why both of their solutions were far ahead of the average rating with an 8.0 and 7.3 rating for this criteria respectively.
