BuiltWorlds has built a reputation in the buildings and infrastructure sector for facilitating networking across traditional industry silos and boundaries. As part of an ongoing effort to expand on that tradition, BuiltWorlds’ new Community Engagement Program aims to foster active involvement among key stakeholders in its widespread community who might not otherwise be able to participate. Since its inception, BuiltWorlds has attracted individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise within the built world. With the implementation of this program, BuiltWorlds’ members will have the opportunity to expand the community while ensuring inclusivity.
This initiative enables companies, academics, students, pre-seed/seed stage entrepreneurs, and individuals from small or disadvantaged businesses related to the AEC industry to connect with top industry professionals. By facilitating these connections, BuiltWorlds reflects its commitment, as well as that of their forward-thinking members, to a belief that our insights are better when we continuously seek input from various stakeholders within the ecosystem. BuiltWorlds recognizes the importance of breaking down traditional industry solids as a critical step to moving the industry forward.
The Community Engagement Program was piloted at the sold-out 2023 Construction Tech Conference, offering recipients of Community Engagement conference passes access to the same unsurpassed networking opportunities regular BuiltWorlds members enjoy. There were three network members that generously contributed to the program: EllisDon, Graycor, and Thornton Tomasetti. Their participation in this program marks another example of how these leading companies are paving the way for a dynamic new generation of industry thought leaders within the space.
“At EllisDon, inclusion and diversity means to respect and value our differences. We recognize the benefits arising from employee diversity; great ideas come from differing perspectives, which are developed by various experiences, which means that you need a diverse set of people… BuiltWorlds Community Engagement program is very closely aligned with the core values of EllisDon. We strongly believe in supporting and including the communities around us, and are part of many such programs to provide opportunities to those that are eager, but unable to participate.” Brandon Milner, SVP, Digital & Data Engineering, EllisDon
