2022 Construction Tech Conference: Cost vs Value Panel

The Cost vs Value panel, moderated by Director of Venture Investments Daniel Laboe, on Day 1 of the BuiltWorlds Construction Tech conference took a slight detour from the jobsite to explore how macro scale forces are influencing value and costing for construction companies. After a brief intro, two panelists were brought up to accompany Laboe on stage. Ivo van Breuklen, Co-Founder and partner at the PropTech Connection as well as Jeff Samples, Industry Evangelist at Join took the stage to bring insights and industry perspectives to the more than 150 conference attendees. 

With an economic recession becoming increasingly imminent, Laboe asked both panelists how this looming reality is influencing margin expanding technology adoption. Sample kicked things off by saying if there was a time to innovate, it is now. From an investment perspective as well as a technology perspective, diversifying a portfolio or tech stack is one of the best ways to weather a recession.
