Rob Schumann, CEO of Blue Vigil presented at our December Venture Forum meeting to give a demonstration of their innovative lighting company. Lighting is critical to construction sites around the world and hasn’t changed much over the years. Currently, most of the lights that are used on nighttime or underground construction sites are spotlights that are raised to disperse the light as far as possible. The limitation to this is that the support poles that hold the lights can only go so high. Blue Vigil uses a tethered drone to deliver light from heights that have never been achievable. The heightened lights allow the light to spread further which allows for better visibility on larger swaths of sites.
The BuiltWorlds Venture Forum hosts monthly meetings (both in-person as well as virtual) where leading investors from the built eco system come together to discuss industry trends and lend insights to one another. As part of their monthly meetings, they sponsor a demo day where tech startups across the space can present their business ideas and get real-time feedback from a panel of active investors.
