Demo Drop: Trayd

Trayd is an innovative construction payroll and compliance platform designed to streamline back-office operations for specialty contractors. Founded by Anna Berger and Cara Kessler, the platform offers a comprehensive suite of tools, including payroll processing, scheduling, field tracking, human resources, and accounting services. By automating tasks such as employee onboarding and time card management, Trayd addresses the inefficiencies prevalent in the construction industry, where many contractors still rely on manual processes and disparate systems.

In February 2025, Trayd announced a successful $4.5 million seed funding round. Led by Suffolk Technologies, the venture capital affiliate of Suffolk Construction, the round also saw participation from Bloomberg Beta and Y Combinator. This investment reflects strong early adoption and growing demand among key customers. The newly secured funds are earmarked for accelerating product development, expanding the team, and scaling operations to meet increasing market demand.

Co-founder and CEO Anna Berger, who grew up in a construction family, witnessed firsthand the back-office inefficiencies that many contractors face. This experience inspired her to develop a solution tailored to the industry’s unique challenges. Under the technical leadership of co-founder and CTO Cara Kessler, Trayd adeptly handles the intricacies of union payrolls and certified payroll reporting, empowering contractors of all sizes to participate in larger, federally funded projects.
