BuiltWorlds, a leading research platform, providing insights, advisory services, networking, and conferences in service to the buildings and infrastructure industries, today officially announced the appointment of Rosemarie Lipman, a long-time industry business and technology leader, as chief executive officer, effective immediately. BuiltWorlds Founder Matt Gray will remain engaged with the organization through his role as executive chair of its Board of Directors.

Lipman, who has served as a member of BuiltWorlds’ Board of Directors since early 2023, brings a wealth of experience to the role, with a 15-plus-year track record of driving innovation, operational excellence and dynamic team building. Prior to joining BuiltWorlds, Rosemarie held a number of executive positions with one of Canada’s largest construction companies, most recently including chief information officer, with accountability for digital strategy, in-house software engineering, data and technology implementation, and external investment and partnerships.

On the appointment, Gray says, “We are extremely excited to welcome Rosemarie as our new CEO. Given her significant industry expertise and history with BuiltWorlds, first as a customer and then as a board member, Rosemarie, as a leader, brings enormous value as the organization continues its commitment to provide objective, actionable, industry-leading research, advisory services and programming to its network of members that represent every aspect of the built sector.”

In her new role, Lipman’s mandate includes deepening the research capabilities and advisory services that BuiltWorlds offers, while expanding the company’s already global client network.

“I am thrilled to join BuiltWorlds and appreciate the opportunity to generate real impact on the industries we serve as well as support our network of clients, who are innovating and evolving the built world,” Lipman says. “By expanding the breadth and depth of our research—in which we already have a strong foundation—as well as our programming and geographic reach, we put ourselves in a position to be the leading source of data-driven insights and solutions that are rooted in industry expertise and created exclusively for our network.”

Alongside Lipman’s appointment, BuiltWorlds also announced that it has recently secured additional investment from previous as well as new investors. Gray said that “the added capital will help ensure the company’s continued financial strength while supporting the expansion of the team, enhancement of our research and digital platform, and the global growth of our network.”
