On the November 30th Analyst Call titled “Smart Jobsites: Democratizing 4D,” BuiltWorlds Director Eveart Foster was joined by Lucas Manos, Senior Innovation Manager at Ryan Companies, and Becca Anderson, Senior VDC Manager at Ryan Companies. A representative of Bentley Systems originally planned to join but was unable. The call focused primarily on 4D modeling, highlighting its use cases and providing insight into how Ryan Companies leverages this technology before concluding with a future outlook.
The call started with an overview of Project Modeling & Simulation from Eveart. Specifically, Eveart presented BuiltWorlds’ Benchmarking Data, including contractors’ implementation of modeling and simulation software and their opinions of its functionality. Notably, 35% of survey respondents have not implemented a modeling and simulation solution.
Following Eveart’s introduction to the topic, Becca and Lucas provided an overview of Ryan Companies’ scope of work and their use of 4D modeling. The two indicated that with over 25 VDC professionals, Ryan assists clients from pursuit, to preconstruction and design, and through construction.
