Overview

The Design Project Manager will be working with the Design Services Group to maintain the day-to-day design activities for all new projects including scope, design contracts, design schedule, weekly design meeting and design presentation to ownership. The Design Project Manager will also be responsible for coordination with the Preconstruction team to ensure project stays on budget throughout the process.

Upon construction start the Design Project Manager will act as the Owners Rep, approving change orders, upgrades and review shop drawings when necessary, Value Engineering options, and field changes. The Design Project Manager acts as a liaison between consultants, construction, development, property management, legal and finance for the projects which are assigned.

Qualifications

Training/Education

Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction related field, landscape architecture or real estate.

Real estate experience highly preferred in Multi-Family and Mixed-Use.

Proficient in Blue beam, Microsoft suite, Microsoft project, AutoCAD.

Other preferred software: Photoshop, InDesign Sketch Up and Revit.

Proficient with FTP and cloud file storage platforms like Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, etc.

Experience/Skills

Minimum of five years’ experience as an Architectural/Civil/landscape architect, construction project manager, multi family experience highly preferred.

Must have a wide range of knowledge on landscaping, interior design, architecture, MEP equipment, construction assemblies, zoning, civil engineering.

Understand and ensure adherence to all Buckingham standard specifications, selections, and details during all phases of the projects.

Demonstrated experience in managing multiple tasks and transactions.

Examination, interpretation and enforcement of building codes and standards.

High degree of accountability, sense of urgency, flexibility and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day design activities for projects assigned to you including scope, design contracts, design schedule, weekly meetings, and design presentations.
  • Review design documents for completeness, constructability, aesthetics and consistency with Buckingham Design Standards.
  • Lead plan review to ensure coordination between disciplines, including civil, structural, architectural, MEP, pool, retaining wall and landscape architecture.
  • Lead weekly project management calls with external design consultants.
  • Check for uniformity and compliance within the plans, including but not limited to standard dimensions, detailing, building service leads, utility design and scope, grading and accessibility.
  • Coordination of dry utilities, signage, property management, internal stakeholders.
  • Assembles design team, Seek design proposals and coordinates design timeline with preconstruction.
  • Coordinates with Preconstruction team throughout the project to ensure project stays on budget.
  • Maintain project schedule.
  • Maintain project budget.
  • Completes owner punch upon project delivery.
  • Represents ownership during OAC meetings, site visits and other duties as necessary.
  • Coordinate Signage installation and design process.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all applicable building code requirements.
  • Issue contracts and tracks overall project schedule and budget.
