Toby Gill, CEO of IPG Energy delivers his product demonstration and overview to the BuiltWorlds Business Venture Forum at their monthly meeting this past January. IPG Energy is working to replace the use of diesel generators on construction sites with renewable energy sources.
Despite all of the innovations within the renewable energy sector, the diesel generator market is still set to double by 2030 to roughly $30 billion. Gill believes that a large reason behind why diesel generators continue to see growth in use is over what he refers to as “energy security”. Because diesel generators have been used for a very long time and the diesel fuel supply chain is well-established there is a sense of trust within their use. This is unlike a lot of more sustainable and renewable single-fuelled generators whose adoption at scale is stunted by the uncertainty of nascent renewable fuel supply chains. IPG aims to accelerate the transition to renewable fuels at scale by creating generators that are capable of operating on any fuel.
