Americas Summit Brings Hilti & Fieldwire CaseStudy,  EQ Office’s Tech Integration and Technology Adoption Leaders on the First Day

The first day of the 2022 Americas Summit, which featured sessions from twenty-five leading minds in the industry and represented over twenty different companies, has come to an end. The summit began with a brief introduction from Matt Gray, Executive Chairman of Builtworlds, providing insight into the origin of the Summit before Javier Castaneda, Director of Engineering and Horizontal Construction Technology for BuiltWorlds delivered the keynote address. The topic of Javier’s address was ESG, which proved to be an overarching theme throughout the general sessions.

The first panel of the day featured Mikki Ward, President of Real Estate Technology for EQ Office, and Adam Segal, Founder and CEO of Cove. Mikki’s unique perspective and ability to pilot new tech within EQ’s large portfolio of tenants allowed for an engaging conversation.

In line with the theme of Sustainability, Day One continued with a discussion around investing in sustainable technology. Ray Levitt, Operating Partner for Blackhorn Ventures, hosted a panel of three high-ranking women in the investment world. Panelists included Melissa Cheong, Managing Partner with Blackhorn Ventures, Cynthia Kueppers, Managing Director with Riverstone Holdings, and Kim Baker, Senior Director of Innovation with Elemental Excelerator.

After lunch, Eveart Foster ran the crowd through the nuts and bolts of the BuiltWorlds Benchmarking Program. This was followed up with a conversation about how to master technology adoption by companies identified as Digital Leaders from this year’s survey. We heard from Mike Ernst, VP of Insights and Innovation for Ryan Companies, William Cotten, Innovation Leader for Impetus, and Lindsey Rem, Vice President, Business Transformation for Barton Mallow.

Digging deeper into this year’s Benchmarking Survey findings, Tyler Sewall discussed field operations and advanced machinery with Philip Lund-Nielsen, Co-founder and head of Americas for COBOD, Di-Ann Eisnor, Co-Founder and CEO of Core, Bryan Kucinski, Senior Consultant with Buildots, and Peter Bysshe, Brand Development for RECON Dynamics.

The final presentation was a case study from Ömer Cagirgan, EVP and BU Head of Business Unit Installation Systems for Hilti, and Javed Singha, Founder & COO of Fieldwire. The two discussed Hilti’s acquisition of Fieldwire in-depth and highlighted how the two companies work together.

To end day one, four companies from the Formwork Labs accelerator program performed demos. These include Hao Li, CEO of Multipliciti, Alex Bell, CEO of Automatic Construction, Stuart Johnson, CTO of Simple Construction, Claudio Wilson, Chief Technology Officer for Nickel, and Mauricio Valdes, CEO of Buildpeer.
