Construction Tech: Not Sexy…Yet

With less than 2 months until BuiltWorlds’ Venture West Conference kicks off in downtown San Francisco, make sure you claim your tickets before they run out!

Di-Ann Eisnor, an emerging voice of innovation in the historically tech-resistant AEC space, will set this premier AEC-focused Venture event in motion, with a thought-provoking keynote presentation exploring the historic opportunity in construction tech.

BuiltWorlds’ had the pleasure of speaking with Di-Ann this past week to really tap into the motivations that have driven her to innovate in this outwardly unsexy industry.

As a serial entrepreneur and former exec at Waze, Google, and WeWork, Di-Ann has experienced the transformation of tech perceptions firsthand, seeing an uninviting industry turn into something irresistible.

Eisnor explained how Waze wasn’t sexy when it was first developed as a traffic automation application, it wasn’t until Google’s $1B acquisition that Waze finally became sexy.

“Nothing is Sexy Until it's Big”

Di-Ann identified construction as a pre-tech industry and saw the opportunity while working as CEO of WeWork’s Cities group as well as her time at Waze, which provided her with ample experience battling the complexities of the construction industry to begin seeing the value-creation opportunities.

Launching Crews by Core in 2019, Eisnor and her team of forward-thinking ConTech pioneers have already raised over $9M in venture funding (with the support of Google Ventures, NFX, Streamlined Ventures), accumulating over 2,300 customers on this worker-focused jobsite application. Core aims to become the Procore of the field, which Di-Ann says presents a 5x greater market opportunity, in comparison to the project management level that Procore’s tech is addressing today.

Di-Ann will be guiding the 2023 Venture West audience through the journey that led her to construction tech, revealing the size and scope of innovative opportunities along the way. You will not want to miss this invaluable presentation, so claim your tickets today, before it’s too late.
