On our visits to London we found place with tremendous Smart Cities and Proptech credentials. Early, active proptech-focused venture funds like Pi Labs and Concrete.vc with the backing of major real estate houses like JLL and Great Portland Estates meld with with global leaders in engineering and architecture like ARUP, Buro Happold, SOM (whose London office is a major urban planning hub), and Zaha Hadid, as well as leading smart cities programs like the one we found at the London School of Economics.

Beyond Proptech and Smart Cities, Britain is no slouch in the Construction and Consulting arena, firms like MACE, Bryden Wood, and Wates Group are piloting fascinating construction automation efforts, going beyond software. Great Britain is also a region with some of the most advanced work in offsite and modular construction activities.
