1. VIATechnik helps Bulley & Andrews improve communication with stakeholders

Bulley & Andrews, a Chicago-based contractor, recently worked with a Florida-based retailer to build the retailer’s Chicago flagship store. Bulley & Andrews sought the expertise of VIATechnik, a technology consultant for the construction industry, to help keep the retailer up to date on work site progress. Using Matterport’s Pro2 3D Camera, VIATechnick created 360 degree shots of the space on six different dates. Bulley & Andrews utilized the photos to give the stakeholders a virtual tour of the site at meetings. Additionally, Bulley & Andrews’ superintendent used the photos to keep track of his crew’s progress.

2. Hangar explains the utility of 360 degree photos

The Hangar RaaS Platform directs autonomous robots to collect data on sites. In a recent blog post, Hangar explained that when a robot takes a large number of 360 degree photos of the same spot over a defined period, these photos provide perspective on changes on the site over time.

3. BuildPay acquires drone license

BuildPay is a cloud-based payment platform for the construction industry. Ross Wightman, a member of BuildPay’s product and business development team, recently acquired a drone license to increase the company’s capacity to collect data.

4. Triax Technologies releases Spot-r EvacTag

Triax’s Spot-r is a wearable IoT device that tracks construction workers location and safety. The Spot-r EvacTag alerts workers to danger on the jobsite.

5. Katrona Tyrrell appointed as Chief People Officer of FARO

FARO, a company that provides 3D visualization solutions for the AEC space, brought on Katrona Tyrrell as the Chief People Officer in January. Tyrell related that she is releasing numerous new professional development opportunities for FARO employees.
